The 401 combines Bristol Aeroplane Company's build quality with BMW’s advanced 326 chassis and 328 engine design clothed in a Touring of Milan developed Superleggera aerodynamic body. When new it cost not far short of a Bentley and I think it is every bit as good and in some respects its looks, excellent handling and strong performance make it even better.

Editorial: The Peerless was a low-cost British sports car in production from 1957 until 1960. It had a fiberglass body and a space frame with Triumph TR running gear and front suspension. Not many were sold and when the company folded, the concept was modified and resold as the Warwick. Nevertheless, this model was also short-lived. Towards the end of production a 3.5 litre Buick was fitted instead of the 2 liter Triumph engine. The company closed its door in 1964. At their next Spring Classics Auction on March 11th, Coys will offer the factory demonstrator, that first had the Triumph engine, but later received the all-aluminium Buick V8.
